The orchard is constructed of raised stone squares inside which lemon, orange, rare bergamot, mandarin and loquat trees are grown.
In this suggestive "place of smell", you can still see the ancient irrigation system, made of stone channels conveying water to the trees.

The Masseria Palombara Grande was built in 1776 above an ancient underground oil-mill...
The oil-mill
The hypogeum oil mill, frantoio, was built by enlarging an already existing underground cave.
The church
The church was built 13 years after the main living quarters and is located next to the Masseria.
